A major breakthrough in mineral exploration! The newly discovered copper resources on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau amount to over 20 million tons

According to the China Geological Survey of the Ministry of Natural Resources, China has made a significant breakthrough in mineral exploration on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, with over 20 million tons of newly discovered copper resources.

It is reported that four 10 million ton copper resource bases, namely Yulong, Duolong, Julong Jiama, and Xiongcun Juno, have been formed on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, with a predicted resource potential of 150 million tons. The Qinghai Tibet Plateau is expected to become a world-class copper resource base.
Tang Juxing, academician of the CAE Member: As a real key metal, copper is particularly important in the development and utilization of green energy. Our solar energy, onshore wind energy, offshore wind energy, and our new energy vehicles need a lot of copper. The exploration and storage of these copper mines play a very important role in the construction of important resource bases in our country, ensuring the safety of our copper industry chain and supply chain.

In addition, the deep part of the Duobaoshan copper mine in Heilongjiang Province has also added 3.65 million tons of copper resources. The results of this round of copper mine exploration will significantly enhance China's ability to guarantee copper resources. Next, the China Geological Survey of the Ministry of Natural Resources will continue to increase its efforts in mineral basic geological surveys, enhance its leading role in scientific and technological innovation, clarify the resources of copper mines, and focus on building a number of new large-scale copper mine resource bases, forming a modern copper mine resource industry economic demonstration zone.
