1. Motor Overheating (Abnormal Temperature Rise)
Symptom:
Motor casing becomes extremely hot to the touch (exceeds safe temperature, typically >80°C), possibly accompanied by thermal protector tripping or a burnt insulation smell.

Common Causes & Solutions:

Poor or Damaged Bearing Lubrication

Cause: Insufficient or deteriorated grease, wrong type (e.g., not heat-resistant), or bearing damage due to wear, improper installation, or contamination.

Solution: Shut down the machine immediately for inspection.

Overloaded Operation

Cause: Excessive feed volume in a short time, high-viscosity materials clogging the screen, or mechanical blockage (e.g., screen frame contacting the base, seized bearing seat).

Solution: Adjust the feeder to ensure consistent and stable feed. Clean the clogged screen in time. Fully inspect the equipment and remove mechanical interference. Ensure the vibrating screen operates within rated load.

Poor Heat Dissipation

Cause: Cooling fan damage or heavy dust buildup; poor ventilation due to design or installation (e.g., dust-covered motor or motor placed in enclosed space).

Solution: Clean motor surface and fins. Check and replace damaged fans. Improve surrounding ventilation.

Voltage Abnormality or Wiring Issues

2. Abnormal Noise
Symptom:
The motor emits piercing friction sounds, periodic knocking, continuous buzzing, or irregular noises during operation.

Common Causes & Solutions:

Bearing Damage

Cause: Lubrication failure causing wear of raceways or balls, cage breakage, or ingress of contaminants.

Solution: Shut down the motor immediately. Replace damaged bearings and thoroughly clean the bearing housing. Follow standard procedures to relubricate.

Loose Fasteners

Cause: Loose bolts on the motor base or inside eccentric (vibration) blocks.

3. Motor Stops or Fails to Start
Symptom:
The motor doesn’t rotate after power-on or stops suddenly during operation.

Cause: Power outage; switch/contact failure; circuit break; blown fuse.

Solution: Check power supply, switch, contactor, wiring, and fuses step by step. Replace damaged components.

Winding Damage

Cause: Long-term overheating, overvoltage, phase loss, insulation aging, moisture, or foreign objects leading to winding burnout or short circuit.

Solution: Measure winding resistance and insulation resistance (using megohmmeter). If confirmed damaged, replace motor or return for coil rewinding.

Thermal Protector Tripping
